His research stems from the intersection of Communication Design and Digital Humanities. In particular, he is interested in the development of new ways of reasoning and working with cultural digital material, through the interplay between humanities scholars, designers and computer scientists. Since 2008 he is part of the DensityDesign Research Lab and Teaching Assistant in the Communication Design degree at the Faculty of Design. In 2011 Giorgio has been Visiting Researcher at the Department of History of Stanford University, working on the Mapping the Republic of Letters project. After having received the PhD degree summa cum laude in Design at the Politecnico di Milano in 2013, he is currently a post-doc researcher at the Humanities+Design Lab (Stanford University).
